Education For Girls
We at HEAL International would like to congratulate Malala Yousafzai on being granted honorary Canadian citizenship. We join her in her quest for girls in underserved countries to access good quality education. Over the past 9 years, HEAL International has helped to provide access to education for hundreds of young girls in western Uganda. One example is Juliet, a 25-year-old nurse who came from an unprivileged background with little hope for her future. HEAL International helped her to complete a nursing program. She has graduated and is working with her husband, a doctor, in a refugee camp aiding those escaping genocide in South Sudan. She is a demonstration of the power of education and generosity of our Canadian donors.
